- Quito Ecuador- Introduction
Ecuador
has it all: Amazon rainforest, the unique Galapagos Islands, the Pacific
coast with it's many beaches, the Andean mountains with peaks up to
6000 meters (17.000 ft.), Indian Villages with colourful markets, and
cosmopolitan cities with lively nightlife. Ecuador is situated on the
Equator and the neighbouring countries are Peru and Colombia. The population
of 12 million people is divided into many different indigenous groups,
a large mestizo (mixed) population and a small white and African American
population.
The official language is Spanish but many speak Quichua, the language
of the indigenous people. Few countries in the world can offer such
a variety of tourist sites within a short distance, like Ecuador.
Quito - The Capital
Quito, the capital of Ecuador, is located 2850 meters above

go fishing in the Andean lakes, visit local "fiestas", go
hiking around the lakes or just relax at the beach. Going on weekend
