Almuñécar
The town of Almuñécar was founded by the Phoenicians
two thousand years ago. It's located 76 km from Granada and 85 km from
Malaga and it is situated in a tropical valley on the so called "Costa
Tropical" where the average temperature is 18°C during the
winter and 26°C during the summer. Even bananas and papayas grow
here.
 Almuñécar
has a picturesque old town centre with white houses and small winding
lanes of the "Barrio de San Miguel". The modern part of the
small town has been built around this quarter and along the kilometre-long
beach.
The infrastructure has been carefully coordinated to the requests of
Spanish tourism and offers many possibilities. You can choose among
a wide range of sports and leisure time activities, or enjoy the gastronomy
and night life. Important to remember is that Almuñécar
lights up during the summer (from July till September). It is a favourite
holiday resort for people from Madrid and especially from the north
of Spain. During the rest of the year, it is a quiet and manageable
town.

Summer School of our Granada Colegio Hispánico is situated in
the town centre near the beach. Lessons and leisure time become almost
one event. The team of involved teachers continue long after the lessons
are over.

 The
leisure time activities are the main attraction of these Spanish courses.
Welcome parties set the tone with paella on the beach, movies and parties
with Spanish people. Trips to the Alpujarras (the mountain villages
near Granada), Granada, Malaga or the neighbouring village of Nerja
are organized from our language school.

Apartments
The students live in central located apartments. The participants share
3/4/5 room flats with bathroom and fully equipped kitchen. It is also
possible to book a single or double room.
Families
The students stay with from the language school staff carefully selected
host families in single or double rooms with half board. Laundry is
normally free.

The best is to fly to Malaga with a charter or a scheduled flight.
A bus will take you to Almuñécar. You will receive more
precise information (bus lines, timetables, maps) with your travel documents
